Hopi Candle

Thermo-Auricular Therapy. Hopi Candling Treatment

Hopi Candling is a natural therapy which has been used by many ancient civilisations. It was, however, through the Hopi Indians in North America (people respected for their knowledge of healing and spirituality) that the practice of candling reached Europe and the rest of the world.

It was originally used as a spiritual tool and later the physical benefits were recognised.

The candle bears no resemblance to a wax candle with which you are familiar! The Hopi candle is a hollow tube of woven cotton approximately 9ins. long. It is made of pure beeswax, honey and impregnated with properties such as Sage, St John’s Wort, Camomile, Beta Carotene and Essential Oils, all of which help to fight infection and inflammation, strengthen the immune system, stimulate circulation and lymphatics, sooth and calm.

The candle works on a chimney principle to draw impurities to the surface from where they can be gently removed. Each candle contains a filter which prevents any candle residue from entering inside the ear. The effect of the vapour gently massages the eardrum and helps to regulate the pressure involved inside the ear.

Treatment

The person lies comfortably on his/her side and the lighted candle is gently placed in the outer ear and held by the therapist. Both ears are treated. This non-invasive treatment has a relaxing and soothing effect, not just on the ears and head but on the whole body.

The candle treatment lasts approximately 30mins and is followed by Reiki healing and a short period of rest.

The combined session is 95mins.

All ages can be treated but children must be accompanied by an adult.

To gain full benefit the treatment should be repeated weekly at first, reduced to 2 weekly and repeated 4-6 weekly for prevention and strengthening.
